Buying property in Progresso was a breeze. From the time we decided to buy and told Michael Erb to the time we signed; only 1 week had elapsed. He took care of everything; from getting the lawyer Francisco (Frank) Gutierrez to having plans drawn up, to getting all the paperwork done. When we returned to Canada, wiring the money was no trouble, as all the information we were given was exactly as it should be. I would definitely recommend Michael and the team as they possess all the qualities I look for when doing business—honesty, integrity and intelligence.

Comment: first met Michael Erb Real Estate Advisor on the internet in September 2010.
We had rented a place on the beach for the month of November 2010 from a family of architects in Merida. We had never been to the area before and I did a lot of research over the internet on the area. I had also checked real estate listings in the area. We had talked to an agent from Chelem and had told him what we were looking for. A retirement home in the Yucatan. He promised to show us around and when I checked his web site, there were charges for everything that he offered. He never contacted us again. During the whole time, we talked with Michael over the internet and he gave us lots of important advice andinformation about buying a home in Mexico. There are a lot of important things to take into consideration when you buy in Mexico and it is imperitive that you have a trustworthy lawyer and reliable realtor. There are so many that are just out for a sale and don't let you know all the intracies of buying in Mexico. It is not like Canada where there are regulations and a real estate board. So when I met Michael and Frank (Francisco Gutierrez) it made things so much easier. After having talked to other Canadians who bought in the area and some of their horror stories dealing with realtors and contractors, I knew that I had madethe right decision to go through Yucatan Paradise. Before I bought, they showed me the area and because I was set on having a beach front property they explained the pros and cons and definitely the cons outweighed the pros.
The best for me was a block or two from the beach as it cuts down on maintenance on your property and abuse of appliances and electronics.
When I made the decision to buy, once I had the financing in place the transaction was extremely smooth. Yucatan Lawyers took care of all the necessary paperwork and believe me it was a lot. They booked me an appointment with the notary and set up the fideicomiso with the bank.
They had provided me with a complete record of closing costs and price for the property.
This was an excellent choice for me because living in Alberta the company did all the legwork on my behalf. When we returned to Mexico to sign the papers at the notary everything was in order and explained to me.
The company provides follow up and important connections to make your purchase and move to Mexico a memorable experience.
Michael and Frank (Francisco Gutierrez) have many reliable connections in the industry and can give you answers to all your questions. If they don't know they will find out foryou.I would send any of my friends or business associates to them before any one else. This company is like one stop shopping. Knowledgeable staff, caring, and they definitely listen to what you are looking for and do everything they can to make your home in Paradise a realty.
I loved dealing with them and they went out of their way to make me feel like Iwas important to them. After the sale, we are like family and I am so grateful to have met and become friends with them. They will not let you down, I love them and feel they are the only company I would deal with in the future.

I welcome any questions from other people thinking about moving to the Yucatan. It is a place to have a home where there is a stress free way of life, lots to do, culture, beauty and the Mexican people are kind, helpful, polite and concerned about their families and their country and culture. My e-mail is reynolbj@telus.net or I am also on facebook.Good luck and if you decide to make this move you will love it as much as I do.

Comment: I first contacted Fransisco and Arlette over a year ago in regards to Real Estate and Immigration services for expats moving to Merida from the United States. I have never been dissappointed. In my professional opinion they both understand the needs of their clients as it pertains to both customer service and the in's and out's of real estate and immigration visas.

Trust is a big issue in any business transaction and especially with a move to Mexico when working with realtors and attorneys. You can't go wrong working with these two. Both are very intelligent, very professional and very personable. Them being bilingual is also a big plus. My wife, kids and I love them both and wouldn't want to do business with anyone else. I highly recommend you give them a call. If you need more info email me at
